I am opposed to the HST as I feel it is just another means for the Federal politicians to obtain more power over us. If we do indeed have to have this tax then this is my suggestion to retain our individualism. Let our province do the collecting and then submit to the Federal Government the GST portion collected. The Federal government will pay us a fee for collecting the tax, not us paying them. We will retain control of the books and will know how much we are collecting and we will retain the payrolls within our own province. Why should we move these payrolls out to Ottawa or some other location back east. We need the jobs here in BC. We also could use the fees. And just in case we ever seperate we need the infastructure in place to collect our own taxes. We will be in a position to tell Ottawa what to do, not subservient to them as we will be under the present plan. Give it some thought. BJB.
